Advocating for evidence-based, responsible alcohol policies to create safer communities.
Our goal is to see a Hawaiʻi, free of alcohol-related injuries, disease, and death.
Our mission is to educate the community and advocate for evidence-based, responsible alcohol policies to reduce youth use and reduce alcohol-related harms in our communities.
INITIATIVES
A solution for safer streets
The fatality rate of alcohol-related crashes in Hawai‘i has increased since 2021; it remained almost unchanged from 2023 to 2024. Hawai‘i Alcohol Policy Alliance is working on improving road safety by keeping impaired driving off our roads.
The Hawai‘i Alcohol Policy Alliance (HIAPA) began in 2017 as a group of volunteers in different communities across the state coming together to “say no” to alcohol industry-initiated bills that would loosen alcohol regulations for their financial gain at the expense of the community’s well-being.
HIAPA aims to educate the community and advocate for evidence-based, responsible alcohol policies to reduce youth use and reduce alcohol-related harms in our communities.
